Black screen after windows logo

I get a black screen after the windows logo. This started happening after I restore my computer. Reapir, restore, anr safe mode do not work. Any ideas?

Please provide some more detail.
1. What is the Operating System.

2.

This started happening after I restore my computer

Was this a system restore point or a restore - recovery from a recovery partition and what was the reason for the restore/recovery in the first place.

3. The make and full model of the computer if branded.

4. Have you tried anything besides the options of Safe Mode etc that you mention.

5. Does the black screen have a flashing cursor

6. If you consider any other details relevant then please include them.
