Hi snooplove,
I used to have the same problem when playing BF3. The only way I could fix this was to reset my router before playing, then shut down all the uneeded
services and programs. I used a program called Gamebooster, this would shut down all the unwanted background programs and services. HOWEVER, the program itself uses a fair bit of power to run, so I noted down exactly what the program was closing down, got rid of gamesbooster and closed them myself before each game. A bit labourious but it worked for me. One more thing to add, I had to run the game as administrator. Hope this helps.
p.s. I've just remembered something else, I'm using Windows 7 but it looked like Win98. If your using XP as stated in your profile,
then follow these steps.
1. Click Start, click Run,type sysdm.cpl, then ENTER.
2. Click the Advanced tab, then under Performance click Settings.
3. Click the Visual Effects tab, and choose Adjust for best performance. Voila win98 stylee computer with faster gaming.
