I'm having some trouble with my micro SDHC card, an "8GB" one (actually 7.3 GB) from PNY. The memory worked perfectly when using it with my first netbook, for about three months. After that netbook died and I started using another one, it's become impossible to transfer files to the card, or to delete files in it. It failed just after attempting it, leaving an unreadable file of the same size as the original. I could copy files from it so I've been able to recover all photos at least.
At first I received the message "Can't read from the source file or disk" when transfering or deleting. The card would also suddenly disappear at that moment, leaving the adapter as if it didn't have a card inside, with the message "Please insert a disk into SD Card (G:)" if trying to enter.
I gave it a full format afterwards. Now, when trying to transfer files, it fails again giving the following message:
"An unexpected error is keeping you from copying the file.
If you continue to receive this error, you can use the error code
to search for help with this problem.
Error 0x80070570: The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable."
Amusingly enough, there is an exception: I can freely copy .txt files into it and modify them. I can also create folders. So it's not like writing is absolutely forbidden, but the system fails to copy any sort of .pdf, .mp3, or .jpg file from my C: drive to it, making it rather useless.
I'm using a Compaq Mini CQ10-400 with Windoze 7 Starter 6.1. Before you mention it I've made sure to check if the white switch wasn't in the locked/read-only position every time (bear in mind I can copy .txt files after all).
I would really appreciate any suggestions on how to fix this error and be able to write on the SD card again.
