thank you Macboatmaster for your added information. some of which i printed off to keep for future reference !!

yes, i do wish to learn more, than just how to fix a problem. so any added information related to my questions that you can refer me to is appreciated !! i will have to re-read the link you posted for me a few more times, on the NON ECC vs ECC MEMORY to get a good understanding of it. since my PC has the option to run either type, i checked to be sure all 4 sticks of RAM in this PC are ECC as you mentioned, and i changed my BIOS to the ECC option.
