Hi, I am new here. I am frustrated and I am having issues with the screen resolution/display settings. I am here to get a second opinion that will hopefully solve my computer problem.

Last night, I tried to adjust the screen resolution. When I clicked apply, the screen went black until I pressed on the space bar.

After doing a boot of the system, everything appeared to be fine, except the screen resolution. Today, Someone mentioned on another forum to update my video card. I tried this on the HP downloads site and It didn't work. All I get is that this "driver is not compatible with my system". Then they mentioned to update my express chipset family thing. I have tried this on HP downloads site and it doesn't work. I install it and nothing happens. Under display, it is still mentioned as "Intel ® Q35 express chipset family".

I am doing something wrong? What steps should I do to correct this problem? Any help would be appreciated.

My operating system is Windows Vista Business 32 bit, I have the HP Compaq dc 7800 desktop computer.

Can you please clarify what exactly it is you are attempting to do, is the image that is displayed smaller than the screen itself and you wish to enlarge it?

Please note that to avoid any possible confusion you should only follow the guidance on one forum, if you wish to continue here please let the other forum know if you wish to continue there please let us know here.

"Intel ® Q35 express chipset family".

That is the correct chipset driver/s and the Intel GMA 3100 Dynamic Video Memory Technology 4.0 driver is the driver for your graphics chip.
