Ok, thanks guys for clarifying.
Question, how to I get from the the blue screen back to the recovery console?
I pressed enter a couple of times, but nothing happened.

Just restart the system manually.

As you wish I only offerred as I thought that 360nourishment was being overwhelmed to a certain extent
360nourishment please do not be insulted by that remark, it was done for what as I saw as the best for you.
You go back to F8 and on the options you posted was listed recovery console - if that is the case, and it is as you posted, then it appears that the recovery console MAY be installed.

ok, I started the system manually and selected Mircosoft Windows Recovery Console. The screen is black with a blinking cursor, but it is not doing much of anything else.

Hi,
No worries, I haven't taken any offense to anything that you guys have said. You both have been very patient with me so far. To be honest I do feel a bit overwhelmed as I feel it is just one problem after another with this computer.

1. I recommend you now do as rshaffer61 suggested and see if you can get a disk check with that Seatools
2, If it passes, I then recommend
you download this and make yourself a recovery console CD
Recovery Console Disc Image
http://www.thecomput...om/files/rc.iso
use this guide to make it
http://sites.google....-console-for-xp
Configure if necessary boot from CD and then post back when you have some results for us - either from Seatools and/or wehn you get to the recovery console

I have a feeling we are dealing with one of the following Mac:
- Bad Controller
- Bad Cable
- Failing or failed hard drive

I agree
It is a little late, but after the problems appeared to be solved by the clean boot, and I was hoping that we would establish the cause by renabling in groups, it is disappointing especially of course for 360nourishment
I have never personally been a fan of leaving such matters as AV scans running unattended.
However that of course now is a bit like shutting the stable door after the horse has bolted.

Put the disk in the cd drive and reboot the system. If the Bios is setup correctly then it should have the cdrom setup as the first boot device. This should allow the hard drive diagnostics to start.
If given the choice please run the extended or advanced test.

Hi rshaffer61,
Sorry I've been MIA for the past 3 days. When I ran the SeaTools from the CD-Rom, I don't think anything happended. The test progress says IDLE and nothing actually scans.
I'm really confused
