Still Realtek driver failure. Lets try installing an older driver level. The current one is version 2.70. Try this one which is 1.71:

Realtek High Definition Audio Codec Driver R1.71

I'm out of ideas. I'll ask some of the other folks here to take a look, see if they have any.

One suggestion I just received:

I would try dropping down a level and run the chipset driver and if necessary rerun the Realtek driver.

Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator Driver for Windows* XP (exe)

This download is valid for the product(s) listed below.

Intel® 82945G Express Chipset

Might also want to go to Windows Updates and do the Custom scan and see if it comes up with a Realtek driver.

Could you explain in simple terms how I do that, please? I'm not experienced at this type of stuff.

By dropping down a level he means hardware wise. Instead of the RealTek driver, install the driver for the Chipset that is on the mother board (Southbridge/Northbridge). Download and install the driver from the link provided.

Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator Driver for Windows* XP (exe)

See if that helps.

Should I uninstall Realtek driver first or second? What should be the sequence of steps?

Just install the Chipset driver, see if that helps. If not then install the latest Realtek driver again.
