In your MB manual, the GPU slots are numbered slot #2 and slot #4. (only two slots)
You uninstaller and reinstalled the new graphics card and the freezing continued.
You should then have tried the new video card in slot #4, then removed it and put to one side.
then you should have tried the old video card in slot #2 and then in slot #4

Before running the RAM test, please make sure the you have only one video card installed and that should be the new card in slot #2.

Alright, so I re-tested the GPU's a described. First my main in Slot#2 and thenin Slot#4 and then again with the backup GPU. Each time still saw the freeze.

Next came the Memtest. It took quite a few hours but I got all modules tested with 0 errors. I'm at a bit of a loss at this point as now I have no idea what it could be.

Gday.
Thanks for the update, was a good result.
Your Speccy results show that the SSD is working properly but need to confirm that AHCI is set,
First, please turn of the computer, turn off power to any hardware connected to the computer, speakers printers etc. USB devises, webcam etc.
All you should have connected is, keyboard, mouse, Ethernet cable and monitor.
Turn on the computer and enter the BIOS, > Advanced Screen > Storage Configuration.
Check that 'SATA Mode' option is set to AHCI. Warning, if IDE is showing, do not change. > press esc on the keyboard, > select< Load UEFI Defaults, > select, Yes..
Then please post.

*******************************
If AHCI is selected, > press esc on the keyboard, > select, Load. UEFI Defaults, > select, Yes..
Does the computer still freeze?

Please read this article. Please take a screenshot of your start up items, if you have a lot, scroll the screen and take multiple shots, then post in your next reply.

Alright, checked the BIOS with and saw under SATA mode that "IDE" was selected. As per instruction, I did not change, "Loaded UEFI Defaults" and Exited. Double-checked and still marked IDE instead of AHCI. Again, did not change, loaded default settings and exited.

Attached are screenshots of my startup list as well

Gday.

This looks like the main reason for the problem and needs to be fixed, this has the potential to make matters worse, but the only other alternative I know of, is a clean install. Without one or the other, you will not have a stable system. A step is often missed when installing Windows to a SSD that is, to enter the BIOS and change from IDE to AHCI before OS install. Will get back to the Msconfig later.

Go to > http://support.microsoft.com/kb/922976
> Expand the option + [Fix it for me.
> Click on the Icon that opens, save to the desktop.
> Click on the saved file, follow the wizard.
Please post results.

Alright, so the auto-fix enabled whatever drivers needed to be enabled, and I changed the BIOS SATA mode to AHCI with successful boot-up.
Started another DVD conversion, and unfortunately froze up on me again.

Unselected aforementioned programs.

Hope dropped when she froze again during an attempt to do a DVD Conversion

OK, sounds a little better.
Open Msconfig again. Please slide the Location window all the way to the right so more of the Command window is visible.

Post the two screen shots.

OK.
My window7 rig is kaput at the moment so have to us an XP one.

Please untick the following.
THXCfg64.
Daemon Tools Pro.

On the Msconfig top menu , click on tools. a window should open with a list of windows tools.
> click on Programs, this, C:\WINDOWS\system32\appwiz.cpl (or very similar) should be in the Command Window,
> Click Launch.

Please go trough every program, look in Option, Help, Etc,,,. You are looking for an entry that will enable you to control Automatic Updates and set them to manual. OR DISABLE.

NB . except, ANYTHING TO DO WITH FIREWALL, VIRUS, SECURITY, WINDOWS UPDATE, BROWSER UPDATE.

I've unchecked the previously mentioned programs. However I am a little confused on the 2nd bit of instructions. It seems C:\WINDOWS\system32\appwiz.cpl is the Uninstall A Program utility so it doesn't seem to give me any options other than uninstalling programs.

We will forget that for now then, was trying to use as little resources as possible . May only have cut down use a little.
Have you tried running a game lately?

I have not recently had much time to play many games, however I was watching a trailer for the new Defiance game thinking it might be worth a buy and got frozen up again.

So far the known problem causers are:
Marvel Avengers Alliance (Adobe Flash Game)
DVD Converting software
YouTube and other Trailer video players (also Adobe)

Might be worth a look on the Marvel Avengers Alliance site to see if there are problems like yhours.

If you use Windows Movie Maker to convert files, does she still freeze?
