touchpad trouble

hi all, just a little one if anybody has 5 minutes to spare :whistling:

i have an acer aspire 5315 with touch pad and scroll buttons....the scroll up/down/sideways has stopped working..everything else is fine..
i have uninstalled and re-installed the latest drivers from synaptics but its still the same
any ideas anybody

It's an old box Nige and rather than pull it apart to investigate the touch pad ribbon I'd get a mouse, with scroll wheel obviously. :)

But it's so much more fun to take it apart, fix the touchpad, put it together and find the keyboard doesn't work, or the sound, or wireless, or .... :whistling:
