Ever since I updated my computer to Windows 8 from Windows 7 - after having to format the hard-drive completely, due to various issues occurring - none of the Sony buttons on the keyword work, such as the audio buttons, the S1 key or the Vaio key.

I have spent many hours installing the relevant Sony software/drivers multiple times (such as the 'Vaio Event Service'), both from the Sony website and other websites, but none of them restore the functionality of the keys.

I have a Sony Vaio Laptop VPCF13Z1E, running Windows 8, and make sure I install all the latest upgrades.

Can anyone help please?

Thank you.

Can you please run the following software for me real fast, as it will help me figure this out slightly...
  • At this point and time I'd like you to get the utility MiniToolBox and run it with the following checked items.
  • List Installed Programs
  • List Devices
  • Only-Problems (leave it checked)

After you've selected just the above items, please then hit GO. Once it's done running, which normally doesn't take too long, it will have a text or log file pop up. Please copy & paste that into a reply. [/list]
On another note, were you able to save your old drivers folder? If so that's the best way, if not then please post back and we can recommend the correct drivers for your keyboard shortcuts from Viao.
