charger wont fit my Android tablet?

I just got a used Kocaso M750B and it uses a mini USB for its charger. However I cant get it to fit into the charger port. The same charger works fine on anything else I plug it into. Ive tried multiple chargers too.
I googled it & it seems this is a common problem. I don't know if the tablets casing is offset & that's why the charger wont go in or if something is bent maybe. I cant help but feel like if I take a tiny screwdriver & tweek the connector that it will fit. But before I go & do this does anyone have any advice on getting this to work?

A bit hard to tell from your pic but, are the five contacts bent and hanging down or are they still up in the grooves? It should look like this:
