Hello again,

I'm still waiting for my computer to be cleaned on the malware forum.
After that I would like to attempt to update the BIOS and see if this will make any difference.
I downloaded from gigabyte's website the latest version for my motherboard.
It is a 7z file and has to be extracted. This is the name of the file:
mb_bios_ga-g31m-es2l_2.x_fi

What program(utility) to use to extract it?

I use 7-Zip for compressed files like zip, rar or 7z.

Thank you for the replay.

I extracted the BIOS update file and it has 3 components.
Shall I use the 3rd one?
They are:
autoexec
FLASHSPI
G31MES2L.FI
