Unfortunately, EaseUS Todo Backup is only free for a 15 day free trial.

I figured out the problem. The tutorial said to use the "run" box when it should have said use the Find programs and Files box. I have a Run fuction as part of my menu and kept trying to use that function. When I tried to use the Find programs and files box, it worked! The scan is running now.

Thanks much for the free backup software suggestions. I will try to look at all that excellent information you gave me tomorrow (US Central Standard Time) sometime. I am working on the scanning and Norton 360 scan now. Thanks again for your help. I am leaning very much to just NOT using Windows Backup and Restore and will most likely use one of the free backup software suggestions you sent me.

• Please download the Braind-Fix.cmd script, save it to the Desktop
• Execute the script by double click the file Braind-Fix.cmd (accept the security warning)
• Restart the computer

Run MiniToolBox again, check the following options:

Try this:

• Download MiniToolBox.zip
  
  
• Temporarily disconnect from the internet and temporarily disable Norton 360.
  
  
• In Windows Explorer, double-click the MiniToolBox.zip file and it will prompt you for a password. The password is
  
  

  minitoolbox

  (The only reason for the password is so that Norton 360 won't be able to look inside it while you're trying to download the file. If Norton 360 could see inside it, it would see that it contains an .exe (executable program file) and wouldn't let you download and/or open it).
  
  
• You should now be able to continue on with SleepyDude's instructions.
  
  
• Once that's done, reenable Norton 360, reconnect to the internet and continue here in this Thread.
