I use windows 8.1 and IE 11 as the browser and Bt Yahoo for my emails. If I go to my contacts page I am unable to add new contacts or edit existing ones, is this a browser problem or a problem with Yahoo?

Try resetting IE first, and then test. If the problem persists, try a different browser like Firefox or Chrome.
