No. Im afraid not. Google works in IE7 but not IE8
This is an improvement though? Were you able to access it in any browser before this?
Step 1: FRST Fix
- Open notepad (Start =>All Programs => Accessories => Notepad). Please copy the entire contents of the code box below. (To do this highlight the contents of the box, right click on it and select copy.
- Right-click in the open notepad and select Paste).
- Save it on the desktop as fixlist.txt
Start
Hosts: Hosts file not detected in the default directory
End
NOTICE: This script was written specifically for this user, for use on that particular machine. Running this on another machine may cause damage to your operating system.
Run FRST and press the Fix button just once and wait. The tool will make a log on the desktop (Fixlog.txt) please post it in your next reply.
Step 2: MiniToolBox
Please download MiniToolBox, save it to your desktop and run it.
Checkmark the following checkboxes:
- Flush DNS
- Report IE Proxy Settings
- Reset IE Proxy Settings
- Report FF Proxy Settings
- Reset FF Proxy Settings
- List content of Hosts
- List IP configuration
- List Winsock Entries
- List last 10 Event Viewer log
- List Installed Programs
- List Devices
- List Users, Partitions and Memory size.
- List Minidump Files
Note: When using "Reset FF Proxy Settings" option Firefox should be closed.
Things I need to see in your next post:
Fixlog.txt

I down graded the browser right before I started working with you. But I never really tried because everything else I tried was a fail. Chrome it still wont work. Any other browser it wont even let me install. I'm getting you the logs now.

Thank you for the logs. I don't see any malware in the logs, your hosts has been successfully reset, and MiniToolBox successfully pinged Google and got a response. Please try your browsers again.

Step 1: Temporary File Cleaner
Clear Cache/Temp Files
Download TFC by OldTimer to your desktop
- Please double-click TFC.exe to run it. (Note: If you are running on Vista, right-click on the file and choose Run As Administrator).
- It will close all programs when run, so make sure you have saved all your work before you begin.
- Click the Start button to begin the process. Depending on how often you clean temp files, execution time should be anywhere from a few seconds to a minute or two. Let it run uninterrupted to completion.
- Once it's finished it should reboot your machine. If it does not, please manually reboot the machine yourself to ensure a complete clean.

You're quite welcome.
I'll post the instructions for resetting Chrome below. Also, there's a link after the Chrome instructions that may solve the problem with IE8. Let me know the results.
Resetting Chrome Browser
Google Chrome gives you the option to reset your browser settings in one easy click. In some cases, programs that you install can change your Chrome settings without your knowledge. You may see additional extensions and toolbars or a different search engine. Resetting your browser settings will reset the unwanted changes caused by installing other programs. However, your saved bookmarks and passwords will not be cleared or changed.
Reset your browser settings:
Click the Chrome menu on the browser toolbar.
Select Settings.
Click Show advanced settings and find the "Reset browser settings section.
Click Reset browser settings.
In the dialog that appears, click Reset. Note: When the "Help make Google Chrome better by reporting the current settings" checkbox is selected you are anonymously sending Google your Chrome settings. Reporting these settings allows us to analyze trends and work to prevent future unwanted settings changes.
Resetting your browser settings will impact the settings below:
Default search engine and saved search engines will be reset and to their original defaults.
Homepage button will be hidden and the URL that you previously set will be removed.
Default startup tabs will be cleared. The browser will show a new tab when you startup or continue where you left off if you're on a Chromebook.
New Tab page will be empty unless you have a version of Chrome with an extension that controls it. In that case your page may be preserved.
Pinned tabs will be unpinned.
Content settings will be cleared and reset to their installation defaults.
Cookies and site data will be cleared.
Extensions and themes will be disabled.
If youre still having issues you may have a program installed on your operating system that is updating your Google Chrome settings. Learn more about programs that cause unwanted settings changes

Ok. I reset Chrome but same thing. "webpage Error". But I can go to msn and a few other sites. With IE8, I was able to run the setup but got a message in the end which say "Setup could not verify the integrity of the files needed for the installation. Make sure the Crytographic service is running on this computer". I've seen this message recently but before receiving your help. I searched it and found out how to check that service and it was running. It gave me directions on how to stop and restart just to verify. However I did not try anything to it this time because I don't wanna navigate away from your directions. I don't know If Xp needs Java or Flash player but I don't see a sign of java. Don't really know if that means anything but I wanted to throw that out there.

Please download Farbar Service Scanner and run it on the computer with the issue.
- Make sure the following options are checked:
- Internet Services
- Windows Firewall
- System Restore
- Security Center
- Windows Update
- Press "Scan".
- It will create a log (FSS.txt) in the same directory the tool is run.
- Please copy and paste the log to your reply.
