no same thing reboots itself half way into reboot
OK...need some information from you that will be helpful to come up with an action plan.
1. Is this a Sony laptop? If not what type of machine is it? Who is the manufacturer?
2. Do you have a Windows XP CD handy?
3. The machine that you are currently using to post...what Operating System is it? Is it also Windows XP or something else?
4. Is the Recovery Console installed? When your computer reboots and you see your menu options of Safe Mode, Safe Mode with Networking, etc....do you also see an option for Recovery Console?
5. Do you have a USB drive that you can use to transfer files if need be?
Thanks.

DVD RW drive (E) do I need a certain type of blank CD
not sure about the ISO file
Perfect. I'm putting plan together. In the meantime, please do the following.
1. Hit F8 when your machine tries to boot (like you have been doing)
2. When you get the menu options (i.e. Safe Mode, etc.) please select Disable automatic restart on system failure
3. This time when your computer crashes it won't reboot. It will provide a Stop code with parameters.
Can you reply back with this stop code and all the parameters?
Thanks.

Safemode is in "Windows Advanced Options Menu
No. There is no option that says Disable automatic restart on system failure??
There should be
Safe Mode.
Safe Mode with Networking
Safe Mode with Command Prompt
...
and one of the options should be Disable automatic restart on system failure.
No there?
