How to get iTunes working on Mac

Hi! I have a school project due on Monday and 4 the last few days I have been trying 2 figure this problem out but then I saw this place so I hope you can help in time! Anyways, I have to download music from iTunes onto iMovie, however, every time that I click on iTunes on my Mac, the screen turns up all blank and I can't see anything. I searched up stuff from support apple and either I'm not doing it right, or it just isn't working. Is it my computer or iTunes that is not working, and how do I fix this problem? HELP!!!

I need help ASAP,
