Hey guys,

First thing I love what you guys have done with the forums, its awesome.

Now for my problem:

I have a Acer E1-522 laptop, I have had it for a year.

Just recently I have been having a problem with the sound. The problem is that it says "No speakers or headphones are plugged in".  After doing some googling, I have followed and done this so far:

  1. In Device manager, I have disabled waited a few seconds and re enabled the sound stuff
  2. Removed the drivers etc and installed the most latest drivers from Realtek
  3. I have tried everything that I have come across in google
  4. Rebooted my laptop x5

Last time this happened I ended up staying up 24 hours just reinstall windows and do all my updates etc.  Now its happened again, I dont really want to be going through that crap again.

Can someone please please please help me, I really love gaming with sound.

Ok, next question, that software Prey.

I know its an anti theft for your laptop etc, but is it safe?

Will it work with Kaspersky?

First, check  your speakers or headphones  on another computer to check whether it could work or not. If it works, check all the audio device like  sound cards.
