[Hynafol]

Keep getting the BSOD error on windows 8. I can make out 'tcpip.sys' but have no idea what this is. Warranty of laptop is far gone so getting it fixed for free is out of the question. Hoping this isn't a serious problem and it can be fixed.

 

UPDATE: I read that this can have something to do with your RAM, so I figured I'd run the Memory Diagnostic Tool and have a look. It came back clean, no errors.

 

UPDATE 2: Read again that sometimes this could be because I need to run windows updates? It would make sense considering I started getting this error after restoring my laptop to factory settings. Could this be the problem?

Can I ask what anti virus protection you are using and have you checked the Device Manager for any yellow ! or red Xs. 

 

Troubleshooting computer issues is a most often a process of elimination so the most obvious course of action is to install all important updates for Windows first and see if the problem is resolved.
