After hitting F9 and several of the the other F keys , all  I get is 2 options: Recovery Console and XP Home Edition.

Where do I go from here?

6000 doesn't work on their support site.  Look at

https://www.asus.com...rt/Article/565/

and give me all of the characters in the model number.

Can't find that number on the ASUS site.  I went back and looked at your Speccy report.  I don't see the hidden partition that they usually for the factory reset so I'm not sure you have that option.  My Acer notebook doesn't have the option either instead they had me bur two DVDs to use for recovery.

What does c:\boot.ini look like?

Since you have the Recovery Console as an option try http://pcsupport.abo...pairbootini.htm
