Ok Rek,

First lets have you boot into safe mode and enable all files to be seen.
Safe Mode
Press F8 after the Power-On Self Test (POST) is done. If the Windows Advanced Options Menu does not appear, try restarting and then pressing F8 continuously until you see the Windows Advanced Menu:
Choose the Safe Mode option from the Windows Advanced Options Menu then press Enter.

After your in Safe Mode THEN do this:

Double-click My Computer.
Click the Tools menu, and then click Folder Options.
Click the View tab.
Clear "Hide file extensions for known file types."
Under the "Hidden files" folder, select "Show hidden files and folders."
Clear "Hide protected operating system files."
Click Apply, and then click OK.

Disable system restore:
Start button,
All Programs,
Accessories,
System tools,
System Restore,
Click on System Restore Settings,
now check the box to shut off System Restore



To remove them have the user start the Registry Editor.
Start - Run- Type in regedit and click OK

Navigate to this key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run


Remove anything associated with ISTsvc

ENABLE system restore:
Start button,
All Programs,
Accessories,
System tools,
System Restore,
Click on System Restore Settings,
now UNcheck the box to shut off System RestorBoot back into normal mode and Post the (hopefully last scan!) latest scan!

Umm when i go to system tools, system restore...there is no choice to turn system restore off.

you have winxp like me so I am figuring its the same way mine is and on mine, if I hit the start button then I go to "all programs" then I hit the
Accessories then System Tools then there is system restore right? Ok now when system restore comes up it has a line in the middle, on the left hand side there is system restore settings, click on that and you will see a box come up called "System Properties" where the checkbox is located, its the same box that allows you to set how many megabytes to use with your system restore program!

When you try using the "regedit" please be careful cuz these changes are serious, what I will tell you to do is this....
ALL that you remove from system restore make a copy of and paste it into a "Notepad" page just in case of an error so we can put it back but it should be relatively easy, if your not sure or nervous about deleting stuff in there you may paste the contents of what you find at the registry key and I can check to make sure it is indeed the bad things Rekzai!

I would also download Spybot search and destroy from our download section, run it and update it and then "immunize"

We also have TD3- Anti Trojan which will add to your wall of protection!
