Hi, I have a 2nd hand vista desktop which i cannot use as the password page comes up when i turn on, I have tried safe mode etc but each time i get the same password page . I have tried to find return to factory settings but this does not come up and all the safe mode options leave me needing the password every time, hope someone can help, thanks Kev.

I'm sorry to hear what happened to your friend.
You can factory reset Acer laptop password by powering computer on. Hold Alt and keep pressing F10 at the Acer logo. You may need a password. If you have used Erecovery before you would have been asked to create a password.
If your first Erecovery the default password is 000000

You are right , i do that a lot , especially when I forget my local password  :yeah:
