Persistent Dark Stripe on TV Screen

I have a TV that has a dark vertical stripe on 1/6th of the screen. It's been through various resets and settings changings and so on, and before I give up and have it fixed I'd be curious if there is some software based solution where you just adjust the brightness levels on that one part of the screen?

TV: Philips 42PFL3605H/12

Connection: hdmi

Laptop GPU: Nvidia GTX 960M

OS: Windows 10
