Is there some way to fix this in Windows 10?
I want to be able to view the covers of the .pdf's in my collections so that I know at a glance what the book is about ... anyone know of a fix for this?

Hi dog,
.pdf should open using Microsoft edge Web browser, its a basic pdf reader but should do the job.
I tend to useFoxit Reader but you can easily change the default.. here's how:

You could also try Adobe Acrobat Reader, available here:
https://get.adobe.com/uk/reader/
But remember when downloading any sort of applications be sure to read all the screens carefully, as many applications come with pre checked/ticked boxes that will install all sorts of unwanted additional applications unless you untick the boxes concerned.

hey paws,
I have acrobat reader ... but when I want to do a quick 'view' of the book covers (easiest way to tell if that's the one I want) I need a fix of some kind that will show the covers ...
as in Win 8.1 or Win 7 if you just open windows explorer and then navigate to the place where you store your .pdf files ... they show the covers of each so that you can easily tell
what is what.

thanks dmccoy ... that works exactly as I'd hoped ... sooooooo much easier looking for a book at a glance
