Hello,

Over the last couple of months I have noticed a change in my Chrome web browser.

When in a Google search page, I used to be able to right click and select "open in new tab" and the link to the web page would open in a new tab, meanwhile leaving the tab with the Google search list intact. (having two separate tabs open)

Now when I right click and select "open in new tab" the link to the web page would open in a new tab, but also the web page also opens in the tab with the Google search and I have to go back on page to get back to the Google search list page.

I tried this with Internet Explorer and it works correctly, when I right click and select "open in new tab", the link to the web page would open in a new tab and leaves the tab with the Google search list intact.  This leads me to believe it is a Chrome issue.  As a work around for now I just drag the link to the top and drop in the tab section to open as new tab

I have the most current Chrome update: Version 77.0.3865.75 (Official Build) (64-bit)

I have played with the different settings for tab performance, but it doesn't seem to make a difference.

Below is the rest of my systems specs.

Thanks for the tip Zep.  I did as you suggested and reset the settings in Chrome.  Once I did that and before reactivating my extensions, the links in the Google search page open in a new tab and left the Google search page intact.  I turned on all my extension and it started to do the same thing, so it is an extension causing the issue.  I was able to narrow it down to the "ClearURLs" extension I had installed.  When that extension is off, I no longer have any issues.

Thanks for the assistance!
