Game DVR is still causing problems so I would just search for

regedit.exe

and hit Enter

and double click on the Start in the pane on the right.  Change it to 4 (probably says 3 now)  OK

Right below is a similar entry but with _36d06 after it.  Change its Start to 4 and then  OK

 

We can also try turning off DCOM which should get rid of a lot of errors.  DCOM is used by local computers to talk to each other.  More of an Enterprise thing so you should be able to turn it off and not notice.

1. Choose Component Services | Computers.
2. Right-click My Computer, and choose Properties.
3. On the Default Properties tab, deselect the Enable Distributed COM On This Computer check box.  OK.

I think the errors are old.  Let's clear all events using a fixlist which will also reboot the system.  Once it comes back up run VEW for Systems again.

I have mine turned off and don't get any errors.  Not sure why you get DCOM errors without DCOM but they are just Warnings that per Microsoft can be ignored.

 

How is it running otherwise?  Any problems?

I have an inkling that the error might be caused by an app called 'Facebook Gameroom' I use to play a game. Don't know why I am still getting the errors even without DCOM though.

 

The computer is otherwise running extremely well (especially as it is now 14 years old) and I am very pleased with it. It is so much faster than it was with Windows 7, so well worth doing. Thank you very much indeed for all your help through all the problems. It took a bit of time, but we got there in the end!
