Hi Phill, Performance wise, things seem to be a lot better. Is there any way to get the most out of my GPU and to focus resources to a game I'm playing? I've heard something about a 'Ram Dump'? Go to the full post »

Power Profile
Active power scheme: Dell

You have a dedicated GPU which needs the extra power of the Windows High Performance Power Plan, brand name computers hide the settings so try the following that I found over at Dell;

  1. Right-click on the battery icon in the taskbar and select Power Options.
  2. In the panel on the left-hand side of on the window, click on Create a power plan.
  3. Click on the checkbox next to High Performance.
  4. At the bottom of the window, give your new plan a name.
  5. When you’re ready, click on Next.
  6. The plan will now be reactivated.

To select the High Performance plan, return to the Power Options menu and mark the checkbox next to the name of the plan you just created.

NB:  Can I ask that you leave the Speccy url until we are done, unlike a Speccy txt log there is no personal info in the url.

Thanks Phill,

This is making me "start" to love Dell even more - This is supposedly a gaming laptop and it's throttling the power to the GPU.

We don`t need the pre scan repair logs thanks.

Let us know how things go with the change of power plan and AIO repairs.

All finished, Ran Chkdsk at startup which took about 5 hours also - Not sure how to see the log of this?

Do I need to restart any of the services I switched off?

Thank you for everything so far,

Wolf

First thing to ask is how the computer is now behaving, it depends on the answer as to what we do next.

You are welcome  :)
