Hi,

From your link the full uninstall command is:

C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.30319\InstallUtil.exe /u C:\Program Files (x86)\Intel\Intel(R) Extreme Tuning Utility\XtuService.exe

Maybe the service is white-listed by FRST because its from Intel!

If the Event Viewer continues to show "XTU3SERVICE failed to start" then the service exists and is trying to load use the sc command to delete it.

Yes, that command didn't work actually, because no Intel® Extreme Tuning Utility in the Intel folder in Program Files.

If the Event Viewer continues to show "XTU3SERVICE failed to start" then the service exists and is trying to load use the sc command to delete it.

I did use the sc command and got the SUCCESS indication. However, I will keep an eye on the event viewer until tomorrow, to confirm that everything is fine.

Again, THANK YOU.

A question: what made you think about the BIOS updating? Something in the Speccy log or the search of the model?

Based on my experience I have found several machines running Windows 10 with slowness problems and many times the BIOS upgrade helps because of compatibility fix's and code updates related with Spectre, Meltdown and similar vulnerabilities...
