I am trying to decide whether or not I want one of these gadgets and am looking for a good reference source.
Is there much difference between the cheapest speakers and the $150 type? In particular, is it easy (or not) to program the device to use it as a a table radio?. Can they "read" audio books, a la Kindle?
I'd welcome any suggestions. ..... batpark

if it your first foray into alexa, why not start small? I started with an echo dot. if you want something that sounds good, then prioritize sound quality. Its black friday season, so there should be good deals to be had.
