My laptop is running really slow. I got a message saying some files where corrupt and to leave laptop running so it could be fixed. It took 20 hours !!!!. but now is running really slow could anyone help please. Thankyou

When you executed Chkdsk command you will be prompted to schedule a disk error checking on reboot type Y letter and press Enter key to do so.
Execute the bellow commands one at a time.
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth Microsoft Windows [Version 10.0.18363.1556]© 2019 Microsoft Corporation. You have to open Command Prompt with elevated administrative rights.

I use a program called Wisecare365 Pro which works very well for me.
Any program like this has risks, like any drug you have to weigh the pros vs cons.
It could fix many or most of your problems or it could make things worse (highly unlikely but you never know.)
I have never had a problem with it.

You will not see anything like that at the previous post recommended on any reputable forum, they are at best a gimmick and at worse a danger to the operating systems registry, it is an old article but the author is still highly respected and tbh I've not seen it explained better than at the miekiemoes' Blog here
