In your registry the file association is gone. We are trying to find out why.

Download this reg file. Double click it. Answer yes to the import prompt.

or:
Press CTRL-ALT-DEL and open Task Manager. Once there, click File, then hold down the CTRL key and click New Task (Run). This will open a
Command Prompt window. Enter REGEDIT.EXE and press Enter.

Ok, let's look at something else.

Open Notepad.
Copy the text from the box to an empty file.
Save it as ‘export.bat’ to your desktop.
Choose ‘save as all types *.*’

regedit /e c:\logon.txt "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/Windows NT/CurrentVersion/Winlogon"

Close Notepad.

Find ‘export.bat’ on your desktop.
Doubleclick the file. It will create a file called ‘logon.txt’ on c:\
Copy the entire text and past it to your reply here in this topic.

I can click it,..but a black window comes up for a few seconds,.. then it goes away.

You had AdWatch running.
It's protecting your Registry from changes :tazz:
Let's disable it and try the reg fixes again.

Open AdAware SE.
Go to AdWatch User Interface.
Go to Tools and Preferences.
At the bottom of the screen you will see 2 options Active and Automatic.
Active: This will turn Ad-Watch On\Off without closing it
Automatic: Suspicious activity will be blocked automatically
Uncheck both options. You can enable these after resolving your problem.


Then try adding the registerfixes to your Registry again.

You had AdWatch running.

Guess what??
I uninstalled it about 20 posts ago!!
I'm running the SE Personal version.
Maybe the reg fixes werent working beofre becuase of the adwatch??

When I save it as export.bat,... it only saves as export.
Still cant dbl/right click on it.

I was able to import a reg fix file into the registry through cmd.


See if you can import all of these:
