Hey guys,

;)

I was just woundering if it was possible to connect your harddrive and CD Rom using the same IDE Cable and if this would slow down the system's recognition of the two drives. This is because my purchase didnt include a CD Rom Cable and I'v only got the floppy and harddrive ones. The place of purchase is a fair distance away so I was just woundering if any problems would arise. ;)

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanx :tazz:

Does your IDE cable have 3 connectors? 2 for devices and 1 to connect to the mobo? If so, then yes you can. But you have to configure a master/slave setup. Usually with the HDD as the master and the CDrom as slave.
