At least i didn't think i found anyting useful lol...
I only saw Disk Manager on the Kroll Ontrack site, but it isn't freeware. I beleive I've seen some utility than can be put on a floppy and used for drive to drive copy, and it was freeware.

Now my question is, using the casper xp, do i need an OS already installed on the new hard drive to be able to clone my hard drive to it?

No the hard drive can be blank. If it has data, the data will be overwritten. Now my question is, using the casper xp, do i need an OS already installed on the new hard drive to be able to clone my hard drive to it?
CasperXP runs from windows. Once you launch the program, you will be guided by a wizard. Just read the prompts and respond accordingly.
Casper can clone either an entire hard drive, of just certain partitions. Read the online documentation Faqs, etc.
It's an easy program to use, and is quite straightfoward.
