I ran Process Explorer in safe mode but it did not find anything. Ran for all three:
avpx32.sys, avpx64.sys, avpx64.sys.

I did not check the box in HJT because ProEx did not find them and I was not able to kill them.

Please Advise. Thank you, Brent

Excal,
One more note. While searching for avpx32.dll in WINNT folder, I came across the wininet.dll file that McAfee tells me is infected. I DID NOT do anything since my last post, I just remembered that and wanted to let you know. I did see what you are looking for in the HJT log. I followed the instructions for using ProEx, but nothing was found. I will await further instructions from you.

My sincerest gratitude for your time and patience with this.

Sorry Excal, but Find file C:\avpx*.* came up blank.

It searched 1574 directories with 0 found.

You did not say Safe mode, should I try that as well? Or is there another option you wish for me to try?

Thanks Atribune and Excal for your continued assistance.

Download RegSearch from the attached on this post.
Unzip it to desktop

Open the RegSearch folder and double click RegSearch.vbs. Allow it to run.
Note: if your Antivirus or another program prompts about running a script file, allow the script to run.

copy and paste this in: avpx then hit "ok"

RegSearch will "disappear" but it is actually searching the registry for that entry.

Copy and paste what it finds into a Notepad file.

Hi Brent,

Can you please download and unzip http://www.atribune....nloads/avpx.zip to a folder on your desktop.

Open the folder and double click on avpx.bat (its the one with picture of a gear on it).
Let it run then reboot and run it one more time.

Reboot one more time, then post a new hijack this log, a new silent runners log, and the log.txt from the folder where avpx.bat is
