I know this is a pain but would you please download the program again and attempt to run it. If it works, please save the log.

Trevuren,

It will not let me run this application. It continues to give me the Window Script and place a copy in the temp folder even though I save it to the desktop. Sorry, but I don't know what else to do.

1. Delete all instances of the program and forget about it. Enough frustration for tonight.

2. Provide me with a fresh HJT log

3. Provide me with a fresh WinPfFind.txt after running the program in Safe Mode. If you are not sure, just look a couple of posts back.

4. We will work with what we have. Improvisation is the name of the game in malware fighting. :tazz:

1. I need to disable your Microsoft AntiSpyware Real-time Protection as it may interfere with the fixes.
  • Open Microsoft AntiSpyware.
  • Click on Options, Settings.
  • In the left pane, click on Real-time Protection.
  • Under Startup Options uncheck: Enable the Microsoft AntiSpyware Security Agents on startup (recommended).
  • Under Real-time spyware threat protection uncheck: Enable real-time spyware threat protection (recommended).
  • After you uncheck these, click on the Save button and close Microsoft AntiSpyware.
  • Right click on the Microsoft AntiSpyware icon on the taskbar and select Shutdown Microsoft AntiSpyware
2. A. Download this tool: LQfix.zip
Unzip it to your Desktop.
Don't use it yet!

IMPORTANT! Reboot the computer into Safe Mode (tap F8 during bootup, use arrow keys to select Safe Mode, then hit 'enter').

B. Doubleclick LQfix.bat that you saved on your desktop before.
A doswindow will open and close again, that is normal.

C. Reboot into normal mode

3. Download Pocket KillBox from here. There is a Direct Download and a description of what the Program does inside this link.

Please open Notepad, and copy/paste the code in the box below into a new text file. Save it as KillQoo.reg (set Filetype to "All Files") and save it on your Desktop.(Include the word REGEDIT4)

REGEDIT4

[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\*\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers\qgqysgxq]

[-HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{32954826-0650-4493-8028-54b039a63ace}]

[HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\policies\Explorer\Run]
"wmvib.exe"=-

Open Pocket Killbox and Copy & Paste the entries below into the "Full Path of File to Delete"

C:\WINDOWS\kaknr.dll
C:\WINDOWS\Nail.exe
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\bdbar.dll
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\datadx.dll
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\gdgsfds.dll
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\gikrsrc.dll
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\guard.tmp
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\iaetcplc.dll
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\locate.com
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\wbdbase.deu
C:\WINDOWS\System32\dkdpxk.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\mfvidc32.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\srns.dll
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\conres.cpl

As you Paste each entry into Killbox, place a tick by any of these Selections available

"Delete on Reboot"
"Unregister .dll before Deleting"

Click the Red Circle with the White X in the Middle to Delete!

Restart in Safe Mode and Run those files through Killbox once more to be sure nothing survived.

This time place a tick by any of these selections available

"Standard File Kill"
"End Explorer Shell while Killing File"
"Unregister .dll before Deleting"

Now Locate and DoubleClick KillQoo.reg-> Allow it to merge into the Registry!

Please re-open HiJackThis and scan. Check the boxes next to all the entries listed below.

Trevuren,

Everything seems to work fine except when I tried to delete the file, C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32mfvidc32.dll from Pocket Killbox in the safe mode. It told me I the file could not be deleted. Below is the latest HJT log. Have a good evening.

We want to stop, disable and delete an added service (023)

A. To stop a service and set to 'disabled'
  • Go to Start > Run and type in Services.msc then click OK
  • Click the Extended tab.
  • Scroll down until you find the service.
    ===>Service: System Startup Service (SvcProc)
  • Click once on the service to highlight it.
  • Click Stop
  • Right-Click on the service.
  • Click on 'Properties'
  • Select the 'General' tab
  • Click the Arrow-down tab on the right-hand side on the 'Start-up Type' box
  • From the drop-down menu, click on 'Disabled'
  • Click the 'Apply' tab, then click 'OK'
The service is now stopped and disabled.

B. We will now delete the service:

1. Open HJT

2. Click on Config>>Misc Tools>>Delete an NT Service

3. Copy/Paste SvcProc in the space provided and click OK

4. The program will ask you to REBOOT --- Accept

5. REBOOT into SAFE MODE

6. Using Windows Explorer, locate and DELETE the following file (if it still is present):

C:\WINDOWS\svcproc.exe

7. REBOOT back into Normal Mode

8. Finally, run HijackThis, click SCAN, produce a LOG and POST it in this thread for review.

Regards,

Trevuren

You have the latest version of VX2.
  • Download L2mfix from one of these two locations:

    http://www.atribune....oads/l2mfix.exe
    http://www.downloads....org/l2mfix.exe

  • Save the file to your desktop and double click l2mfix.exe.
  • Click the Install button to extract the files and follow the prompts, then OPEN the newly added l2mfix folder on your desktop.
  • Double click l2mfix.bat and select option #"1" for Run Find Log by typing 1 and then pressing Enter.
  • This will scan your computer and it may appear as if nothing is happening, then, after a minute or 2, Notepad will open with a log.
  • Copy the contents of that log and paste it into this thread.
IMPORTANT: Do NOT run option #2 OR any other files in the l2mfix folder until you are asked to do so!

Regards,

Trevuren

Close any programs you have open since this step requires a reboot.
  • From the l2mfix folder on your desktop, double click l2mfix.bat and select option #2 for Run Fix by typing "2" and then pressing ENTER.
  • Then press any key to reboot your computer.
  • After a reboot, your desktop and icons will appear, then disappear (this is normal). L2mfix will continue to scan your computer.
  • When it's finished, Notepad will open with a log.
  • Copy the contents of that log and paste it back into this thread, along with a new hijackthis log.
IMPORTANT: Do NOT run any other files in the l2mfix folder unless you are asked to do so!

Regards,

Trevuren
