I had a friend tell me that you guys could probably help me out. :tazz:

I just got my new Inspiron 9300 yesterday, and it's really nice, except the modem won't connect over 28.8k, and most of the time it's 26.4. It's a Conexant D110 v.92. I know it's not the phone line/ISP because I can get on my desktop and get 44-49k. I've also run all the spyware checks and updated my drivers and I still can't get over 28.
So does anyone have any ideas on what to do?

The first step I'd advise would be to call Dell Tech Support, since this is a new machine. They'll probably run you through some diagnostics and either fix it over the phone, or possibly need to replace the modem.
