It also depends on how busy the download line is. In the evenings from about 20:00 - 05:00 is the best time to start downloading on dialup. :tazz:

Strangely enough, I have 768Kbps down and 128Kbps up. Or is it 256 up? Who really cares about upspeed anyway?! It's not often that I need to upload large files to my website, or anyplace else come to mention it!

My ISP decided to give us all 50% extra downline speed free. Not bad but it's a break from the norm of 1/2meg increments.

It was quite a coincidence when we got the increase though as I had been contemplating an upgrade for a few weeks previously. Then I found out about the upgrade and thought, "Hey... That'll do for me. 3/4 Mbps is fast enough for now".

I've got to say that overall i'm pleased with it so far, but sometimes I do wonder what a 1.5Mb line would be like... schweeet methinks!

Yeah that was the biggest thing for me when I was on dail up, was that to much people was on the servers that I wanted to download from and that since it was dial up and where I was at the time it was really slow.

There are a few reasons I went to DSL.

1) Talk on the phone while using the net.
2) Faster for me to do what ever I want on the internet.
3) Dail up was annoying me.

BT, they suck but they are cheap. NTL next year with the 10mbps line as standard.
