Ok. I did that step, but I have a couple of questions. When I ran the VX2 Finder and clicked restore policy it had me reboot my system. I don't know if that is a problem. Also I didn't do any of the steps in safe mode if that is a problem. Anyways just telling you in case I needed to do something differet. Here is the HijackThis Log.

Please reboot into safe mode (continually tap the F8 key while your system is starting, select Safe Mode from the menu).

Edit the .reg file on your desktop to look like this and double click it again. Then you can delete it.

alright. Finished that step. Couple of problems though. It wouldnt' let me delete wqiyqy.exe because it said it was being used by another program. Also that reg. file had an error when I edited it, and then double clicked on it and said yes. It brought up an error. Hopefully I did everything correctly.

That version won't work on my computer for some reason. It scans and then when it finishes scanning it automatically closes with an error.

Ok, looks like I missed one last thing in the Output.txt. Run the Killbox again, and in the same manner as before remove these two files:

Next:

Copy and paste this text into a text editor such as Notepad.
Save this text as FixVX2.reg. Make sure the "Save as type:" is "All Files (*.*)" and save it to your desktop.
Double-click on FixVX2.reg. When it asks you to merge the information to the registry click Yes.

This has to be done again, because I'm quite sure it is back to how it was since I missed those files to remove. Sorry.

• Download VX2Finder.
• Double-click on VX2Finder.exe.
• Click "Restore Policy".
• In the File menu click "Exit".
• Double-click on KillBox.exe.
• In the File menu click "Delete all Dummy files".
• In the Tools menu click "Delete Temp Files".
• Choose "Standard File Kill" if not already selected.
• Paste these files one by one into the top "Full Path of File to Delete" box.
  • C:\RECYCLER\desktop.ini
  • C:\WINDOWS\System32\drivers\etc\HOSTS
• Click the "Delete File" button which looks like a stop sign.
• Click "Yes" at the Confirm Delete prompt.
• It should give you a successful "File was deleted" prompt for each one.

Reboot normally and post a new Hijack This log. After the log is clean you should be able to run the newest Hijack This too. We'll see when we get there.
