monitor problems help please

im haveing problems with my monitor i turn on my computer but the monitor does not turn on its just a black screen. all the wires are pluged in correctly and the monitor gets power but the little light on the monitor is orange not green.green showing its working and orange showing that its hibernating or something

please help anyone i just got this computer and im a noob

Orange means that its not receiving a signal from the video card. I would check the pins on the cable and make sure they are all straight and the cable is screwed in tight. I would reseat the video card.

Did this happen imediately after installing something or was it working for awhile after installing the RAM and sound card?

I would pull the plug on the monitor. We used to do that on servers that wouldn't boot up. I would pull the plug and wait 10 minutes and plug it back in and try it again.

I would shut down and pull the plug on both the pc and monitor for 10 minutes and try it again.

i reseated the video card and checked all the pins and there all stright but still not sign that the monitor is working

Do you use any of the hibernate/power save settings? I don't use them because they cause problems. I turn off the monitor when I'm not using it.

You did see my 'pull plug' post above your last post....just checking.
