Yes, it does have always allow, I did not notice it last night. I have selected it. Another question, the SpywareBlaster lets me open it and choose what to protect. The SpywareGuard does not open, is it supposed to?
I have also downloaded all windows updates. Thank you so much for all your help. So far everything is still good.
Thanks,
Angie

Hi Angie, glad to hear your system is running better :)

SpywareGuard starts automatically when you load windows and you should see a red coloured 'SG' in your system tray. You can double click this to open SpywareGuard and see status information etc. Essentially SpywareGuard monitors for suspicious spyware activity such as Browser Hijacks and will prompt you on what to do if such an event happens. It will ask you if you want program xxx to be allowed to change your homepage, search page, toolbar etc. You can say No if you do not recognise the program.

SpywareBlaster essentially adds a whole load of known bad sites and activex controls into your IE blocked list to prevent you accidentally visiting those sites or downloading those activex controls. This doesn't need to run at startup as once you've added the baddies to the list, they stay there forever. You just need to update SpywareBlaster every couple of weeks.

Hope this explains it ok :tazz:

OK, thank you for the info. One more question, you mentioned I need a firewall, doesn't Norton antivirus have firewall protection?
Hopefully I will leave you alone after this.
Thanks,
Angie

Hi Angie :)

Norton Antivirus does not contain a firewall, it is purely an antivirus package. However, you mentioned previously that you may have 'Norton Internet Security'. This does contain a firewall.

If you double click on the Norton icon in your system tray, you should be able to see what packages you have installed. If you have Norton Internet Security (antivirus + firewall + other things), you should see the options to configure these products. If you only see Norton Antivirus then you should install a firewall such as Zonealarm, as recommended in my prevention tips.

Thanks :tazz:
