My friend somehow aquired a trojan. I tried using Norton and AVG to find and they both did. But both said the same thing. They couldn't quarentine it, heal it, or delete it. So I went and tried to delete it myself and it is in the System32 folder. So my access is denied as well. So I am out of ideas. Norton didn't help to much either. So any ideas will help. Thanks. The trojan is called Download.trojan. and is located in C:\windows\system32\st3.dll. I want to avoid reformating but if thats the only optional left then I will.

If you're still having trouble, We'll need you to use a free diagnostic tool, Hijack This. Follow the instructions in step five of this guide, and reply here with your log.

Most of what Hijack This lists lists will be harmless or even essential, DO NOT delete or modify anything yet! I will be along to tell you what steps to take after you post the contents of the scan results in this thread.

Thanks
