I have a virus alert I can't get rid of. I have the latest addition of Norton Antivirus but it is unable to solve the issue. The dialogue box that keeps popping up and won't go away says..

Object Name: C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\WININET.DLL
Virus Name: Trojan.Alemod
Action Taken: Unable to repair this file

I am running XP Home Edition

Hey PowerKord and welcome to G2G!

I did a quick google on your problem and noticed a solution to your problem via Norton's website. The website is at http://securityrespo...jan.alemod.html. It is very detailed and should be able to solve your problem fairly easily. Please post results for us.

Too40shorty you should not be helping with live malware problems as you are still an underclassmen.

Also moving this post to the malware removal forum...
