That should have downloaded with the program itself.

If it's not showing then we need to start all over again for the download.

since you can't get on the net with that computer I would recommend saving it to disk then transferring it. next click on the exe to install it.

If it still causes the problems, then we need to find a way to get that thing connected to the computer to do a direct download/install

I got AVG to download and install. I used killbox to remove the last dll files left by mccaffee. I still cannot remove the four services files. I tried winsock but internet explorer still does not work. What do I need to do next

Please go offline, close all browsers and any open Windows, making sure that only HijackThis is open. Scan and when it finishes, put an X in the boxes, only next to these following items, then click fix checked.

As for IE not connecting to the net, I'm not sure what is causing that,. It might be the AOL host system causing that but I"m not sure, After you do the above fix I would recommend posting in our Internet and Browser Forum. This is an area on our boards that our trusted techs oversee, and might have a better idea of what is causing that problem. let them know that the system is spyware clean and that I recommended for you to post there. They should be able to come up with a solution to the problem quicker then I could.
