Hello,

For several months now i've been aviing a very anoying problem, When i click on a link ( not every link only some) IE suts down completly. This happens on every link from a jeeves search, and some goolgle, and also from some other sites.
Also the pc is running much slower than it used to bogged down with lots of crap.

I've scanned my system with norton, Ad-aware, CW Shredder, Trend Micro online, Spybot & microsoft Antispyware, all have found problems and i've corrected them all, but still this anoying problem exists.

Can anyone see anything in this log that could be causing my problems.

then post a new Hijack this log

Thanks for the help!

I have remove the three entries as you highlighted.

However i was unable to find any files called

microsoft update machine
or microsoft update

when i restart in safe mode.

I have fixed the entries that you highlighted, I think the Pc boots a bit quicker now, but i still have the problem or Ie shutting down when i click on some links. Do you think that there might be something else causing this??

Hi

I do indeed use the norton firewall, however i have no recolection of instaling zonealarm, nor does it appear in my add/remove programs.
However i removed the entry using HijackThis. The problem still persists when i click on a link from jeeves.
Should i uninstall internet explorer and reinstall

hi sorry for the delayed response, was away form my computer yesterday.

what I would recommend you doing is checking your restriction setting in Norton, I do know that Norton has a tendancy of causing this problem. i ran into a similar problem with Norton, which is why i removed the program and went to Zone Alarm, then in turn went to Kerio personal Firewall.

I had the same problem, i.e., after displaying one or two pages in the browser, I could no longer browse unless I rebooted. The cuprit was the Symantec Network Proxy, ccProxy.exe. You can either change the recovery setting on the Symantec Nework Proxy to restart the service after a failure (i.e. Start -> Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Services -> Symantec Network Proxy. Double click on the service and click on the Recovery tab to set the first, second and subsequent failures to "Restart the Service") or disable everything in Norton Internet Security except for Norton Anti-Virus.
