I have an older cmpaq desktop...amd anthalon 500 or so..it ran win 98se...hd went bad...installed a new hd...and installed win xp....got to last reboot of install...lost all display and keyboard functions....wont even power up monitor....keyboard lights flash for a sec when rebooting...then nothing...any help would be a blessing...thank you in advance.

not a lot to go on there, but it sounds like a bad power supply

could you elaborate on what happens when you press the power button? Had you done any poking around inside?
