Hi mumbojunk,

The infection would have been removed from your system with the System Recovery. However, the files that you backed up could still be infected. I would suggest that you run the tools in this thread, and then if you still have any concerns post a log in the Malware Removal forum.

Thanks for adding this simple but effective program. The problems I have been having seem to have stopped thanks to fixIEdef.

I'm glad I'm no IE user, but it killed me even to browse my computer -- and I couldn't get rid of it, even though I'm armed to the teeth with anti-spyware and adware software. Ware.

Anyway, this worked like a charm. Thanks so much for creating this tool!

Excellent program, the IE defender can be a real menace and is not usualy easy to remove.
