I had this same problem on a friends Vista computer. I tracked it down to an automatic update of AOL a few days ago. Tried re-installs of old versions of AOL, etc. No luck Got a bad_pool_header stop 0x19 BSoD everytime AOL was "connecting"

Check out this link - this fixed the problem for me - renaming the files in the Common Files directory.

C:\Program Files\Common Files\AOL\ACS\ATWPkt2.sys and atwpkt2.vxd (there was also a 64bit version that I renamed) and C:\Program Files\Common Files\AOL\aolshare\sysinfo\atwpkt2.sys (I didn't have this file on my friends computer).

I renamed the files by adding a ".old" onto the end of the filename. No more crashes when starting AOL. I suppose problem could come back if AOL pushes new files down in a subsequent automatic update. I could not find any other thread on the internet that had a solution besides this one.

I have it.

It would have been better had it been attached, but I'll muddle my way through it. It will take me a bit to look it over.

Nope different animals...and just what I was hoping to hear.

Have a look in Device Manager for me and see if you have a PCMIA card installed...hopefully a Sprint device.

i cant see anything that says pcmia on it. would it be under a specific heading that i can expand?
i did find these though...

6to4 adapter
This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31)

Click 'Check for solutions' to send data about this device to Microsoft and to see if there is a solution available.

says that twice, and then says the same message under the heading

microsfot 6to4 adapter #40, and number 43.

only thing i can find for sprint is the novatel wireless ovation evdo modem.

anything else i can look at for you mate?
sorry for being a techno idiot, i know it makes your helping me harder.

I haven't got a lappy here to check for devices, but what I'm looking for is "Texas Instruments PCIxx12 Cardbus Controller".

See if you can find that one. It may be under PCI devices or Non Plug and Play devices.

:)

Let's try something real quick.

Click the Start orb, right click on "Computer" and choose "Manage". At the bottom of the left frame, click on the arrow next to "Services and Applications", then on "Services".

In the list of services, locate and double click on the "AOL connectivity service"...if it's running, click the "Stop" button.

Try to open AOL
