Hi there,

Since my last visit, I posted a request at Marware forum. I did not get any response; as a result, I decided to clean out the system. I reformated the C drive and did a clean install of win7 64 bit. There were no major issues except 3 bsod in the last three months. Further errors were schannel, which I never understand. In the last two days, I am getting a spam email from my own email account.

The last two bsods were casued by kernel-power. I find this frustrating as it can be caused by anything. When the crash occurred this evening, Amibroker, Skype and Firefox were running.
In the background, Idrive online backup runs. I close all applications when I shut down (except IDrive and Zonealarm) the workstation in the night.

Is there a malware or a backdoor trojan causing this problem? Is there a hotfix available to address the kernel power. I did a hotfix a few months ago for this kernel power. My workstation is HP xw8600.

Please advise.

Thanks
SSri
