Well, it looks like you had double issue. Some infection and some hardware problem. The latter maybe not over yet.
Was your computer physically connected to the internet (ethernet cable), while you were installing Windows?
I'm asking, because there is always a chance, there before Windows is totally installed and before a firewall kicks in, you could get reinfected.
