Toshiba satellite, always got error since bought that software might not be right but was for kids so didn't matter. I've tried for a long time to load updates but never could it crashes when restarting. Now I lost my computer so I have to use this one and need to update. I verified software and computer and it authenticated but still problem. Oh and awhile ago my brother put memory and the battery won't work so has to plug in. I tried going into bios and big mistake cause now won't boot at all. PLEASE HELP! I have to have a computer to support family until I can replace mine- I don't know what to do! THANK YOU!

Go back into the BIOS/CMOS Setup, Reset to factory defaults, Save and Exit.

Now how far does it get with the bootup?

Three questions:

  • Can you get into the BIOS/CMOS Setup?
  • Does the BIOS recognize the hard drive? (Do you see the hard drive model number anywhere in the CMOS/BIOS Setup screens)?
  • What is the model number of your Toshiba Satellite? (Probably on a sticker on the bottom of the laptop).
